Independence Day

Mark was off work on the 4th of July, so we drove to Olathe, where Rose wrapped Grandpa around her finger.

Then we were off to Aunt Maggie and Uncle Phil's house to celebrate both Independence Day and the soon-to-be-married couple Stefanie and Andy.  There was a water gun/balloon fight in the works.  Dale immediately started playing with the bigger kids, squirting everyone without fear.

Rose didn't quite understand the bean bag toss.

Not to worry though.  There was an expert in the house.

This is what a official member of the American Cornhole Association looks like.

Mary looked beautiful as always, and I had so much fun hanging out with her the whole evening.  She's good company.

Not a member of the American Cornhole Association.

Rose took a little while longer to warm up.  She needed lots of hugs from Daddy before she could really start to enjoy the night.

Dale and Matthew took turns slippin' and slidin'.

Mary was an excellent partner in crime all evening.  Thanks for giving me a head's up after the dog wiped his butt on my drink.

Treats!

The happy celebrated couple, Stefanie and Andy.

Uncle Brandon.  We can't explain him.

We left the party just in time to catch the Olathe fireworks.  Rose was horrified by the whole thing, but Dale loved it.  Happy Independence Day!
