We have been looking forward to taking Dale to an airshow since he first showed an interest in rockets and other assorted fast flying things, and since I'm not one for postponing activities, this year's "Wings over McConnell" airshow at McConnell Air Force Base was the perfect chance to go. What a bonus that Monga and PawPaw live in Wichita and were able to join us on our adventure.
There were airplanes of every kind spread out all over the area, and we did our best to look at them all. We even learned that Dale only has to be eight years old to start flying. That's only four years away! We are soooo all over that.

We stayed for the entire show from start to finish, oohing and aahing at every turn and every flyby. Dang, it was fun!

Oh the Thunderbirds. Wow. Just wow! The respect, the courage, the esteem of it all.

You could see Dale and Rose dreaming about their futures as Air Force pilots.
We were tired, sunburned and deaf, but oh, what a fabulous day!
I loved our day.
