Lily Visits Captain America and Princess Rose

Captain America and Princess Rose were visited one afternoon by Monga and PawPaw and a little Lily.  It was nice enough outside, but it was raining.  What a tragedy!  We took to the front deck in order to get some of our extra energy out.  And of course since it was raining outside, my kids wanted to wear their rain boots.

Dale and Lily played racing games, where the winner would get a HUGE ENORMOUS trophy.  The trophies were heavy and apparently very tall.

Dale and Lily holding their trophies.
Now that's a big trophy.
Rose was distraught, probably because she never did win her own trophy, so Monga gave her extra cuddles.
I knew it was time to go inside when Lily started pushing Dale a little too high on the porch swing.

One last Dale face pic...

Another appearance from the one raised eyebrow.

Rose the Spider

An evening on the front porch with Dale, Rose and Lily starts like this...

And becomes this...

Rose is apparently a spider trying to eat Dale and Lily.

At first Lily was fascinated with the way Dale and Rose played together, hugging and then pushing each other to the ground, giggling one minute and screaming the next.

But she warmed up quickly and joined the "scary spider" game.

Being the spider is exhausting.
Dale has endless energy.

Suddenly the tables turned and everyone was chasing Rose.

Then Dale laughed hysterically as Lily threw his sister to the ground.

Meanies.

Christmas Lights

With Thanksgiving behind us, it was time to get on with important holiday tasks such as lighting up the cul-de-sac with colorful delight.  It's really not that impressive, as we only have two strands of big rainbow colored bulbs, but the kids revel in the smallest holiday effort, so why not?
It's quite the family affair getting the lights up on the house.  Here's how it works:  Daddy tries to hang each strand with perfection, Dale and Rose stumble in and out of Daddy's way while pulling on the lights, and Mommy stands nearby watching the spectacle.  What fun!

Dale and Rose could hardly stand the excitement of untangling the lights.
Who knew there could be so much joy in two small strands of Christmas lights?
Dale and Rose both wanted to help Daddy.
They did this all on their own.

Just Another Day

Another day, another chance to tackle the "monster."  That slide is always the first thing Dale conquers at Cico Park and the last thing he does before we leave.

Rose likes to wander around quietly while her brother darts from here to there.

Boho Rose.

These young girls were hanging out on one of Dale's favorite toys.  He was so sad and kept saying, "When my turn, Mommy?"

He never did get his turn.  Poor Dale.
Later at home, the kids helped Daddy plant new flowers on the deck.

Dale loves doing anything with Daddy!

And Rose loves to hang near Mommy being cute and adorable.

Rose found a lovely new necklace, and Dale found a funky new hat.

Fun is everywhere and in everything!
