Watching Daddy

We've only been able to watch Daddy play softball a few times this summer, and we love it when Zachary and Mason are there to watch their Daddy too.  And maybe I should clarify.  By watch, I mean do anything but watch.  In fact, going to Daddy's softball games is really just an excuse to go crazy in public right before bedtime.

Once the apples disappeared, so did the calm.  Then there was a whole lot of this...

Suddenly everyone was a wild animal, and for a while there I feared for my life.

Rose had no interest in all the roughhousing.  Instead she kept far away from the boys and played by herself in her own imaginary dream world.

Perfect princess.

Okay, on occasion there is a little bit of game watching.

We love Daddy.

While Daddy Plays

Dale and Rose love going to Daddy's softball games, because for them that means a chance to play at the nearby playground.

I didn't get a single picture of the softball game that evening, because Dale and I spent most of our time watching Rose throw a temper tantrum on the sidewalk leading to Daddy's game.  We did, however, get to see Zachary and Mason briefly.  As we were leaving the park, Dale and Zachary decided to casually walk up a hill, leaving the rest of us to watch and wonder.  We did eventually have to call them back to us, but I got this adorable shot before they both came rocketing down the hill.

Zachary Turns Five

Lucky for us we were visiting Daddy when Zachary had his fifth birthday party.  Zach and Dale were friends when they were babies, and although they didn't remember each other, they became fast friends once again.  Zachary's party was at a crazy huge jumping play place, and Dale went wild sucking it all in.

It took Rose a little longer to warm up to the new people, but every once and a while we'd catch her having fun.

Mason, Zachary's little brother, quietly explored the play place.

The birthday boy was so sweet and welcoming to Dale.  We're pretty excited to play with Zachary and Mason more once we get all settled in Colorado.

Zach got to eat special Pizza Hut wings for his birthday.
